Collaborative: Create a collaborative and safe space where individuals feel comfortable, accepted, and understood
Evidence-based: The treatments we use have been found to be effective in rigorous scientific research studies that collected data over time, including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-based therapies, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Exposure-based therapies.
Strength-based and personalized: We carefully tailor interventions to meet the unique strengths and needs of each individual.
Goals that are progress monitored: We identify specific, measurable, and realistic goals and incorporate ongoing data collection to measure progress and assess whether the treatment needs to be modified
Location: We provide therapy onsite, in-home, through teletherapy, and over the phone.
Time: Therapy sessions are typically 50 minutes in length but can be extended or shortened based on the needs of each child and family.
Length of treatment: This depends on a number of factors, including presenting concerns and goals. We monitor your progress in tandem with you to more effectively assess whether your goals have been met.
Frequency: Traditionally individuals participate in therapy on a weekly basis. However, we prioritize tailoring interventions to your circumstances, which means therapy might involve intensive treatments that take place several times a week, or sporadically on an as needed basis.
Insurance: We currently are not on any insurance panels and are considered out of network. However, we can provide invoices (superbills) that you can submit to your insurance carrier for reimbursement.
Cost: Our rates are comparable to those in the Bay Area.
Scheduling: Please send us an email to schedule a complimentary phone call to discuss your goals and determine whether The Child Development Academy is a good fit. Phone consultations are typically 30 minutes.
